Our Story
We are the third generation of an independent family funeral service business that has been helping families get through the process of saying goodbye after losing a loved one since 1950.
Because it is a family business, our service stands out above the rest in warmth and empathy and, furthermore, our many years of experience in the business gives us a high degree of professionalism.
Prudencio Antonio Samper Samper inherited the funeral service business from his father in the 1970's. And in 1987, he opened the Virgen de Pilar mortuary in Pilar de la Horadada, it was the first in the southern part of Alicante. Alongside his sons, he opened his own crematorium in the same location in December of 2009 and in 2025 the company opened a Chapel of Rest on the Orihuela-Costa to serve national and international residents from around the area.
In recent years, the company has expanded its activities throughout the entire province of Alicante and north western Murcia. Even though the mortuary is located in Pilar de la Horadada, we can travel to the church or cemetery chosen by the family to hold the funeral service.
We adapt the service to your personal needs and traditions.
Our job consists of making sure that the families remember the day of the funeral as a special day and that the loved one who has sadly passed away gets the respect every person deserves.
